Product Description |
| With its ample dimensions and burly construction, this commercial 5-quart KitchenAid mixer is prepared to be a culinary beast of burden. Smartly engineered so that the beater moves clockwise while the shaft moves counterclockwise, the beater reaches every part of the bowl without requiring it to rotate. 5 mixing speeds plus a stir setting means the appliance can do everything from folding cranberries into biscotti to whipping up a fluffy meringue. The all-metal construction includes a heavy-duty motor to handle stiff batters and a hardwearing transmission that ensures continuous power. The mixer’s seamless, stainless-steel, 5-quart bowl stands flat on its indented base and features sealed handle and bracket connections that meet NSF standards. A professional-style bowl lift raises it easily and securely into position, even if it’s brimming with weighty dough. The mixer comes with a burnished flat beater, a burnished dough hook, and a commercial wire whip. The flat beater is perfect for mixing cake batters, mashing potatoes, and stirring quick breads. The dough hook comes in handy for breads and coffee cakes, and the wire whip is your tool for icings and whipped cream. 4 sealed rubber feet hold the mixer stably in place, and a 3-wire, 6-foot power cord meets commercial requirements. As a safety mechanism, the overload reset button pops out if the mixer is overloaded, and the motor shuts off. If you only bake occasionally, a less heavy-duty unit will do the job. But if you work or recreate in the kitchen, this hard-working mixer can keep the pace. --Emily Bedard Editor’s note: This is a reconditioned appliance. Reconditioned generally means that the appliance has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings it back to like-new condition. Some appliances may contain cosmetic blemishes. |

A Dream machine!!

After burning up a mixer that was rated for bread dough I decided I really needed a heavy duty machine and I got it!!! As a gift from my husband for our 33rd anniversary/Mothers Day. I make our bread and need a machine that can handle the dough. I also make cheese cakes and the Kitchen Aid mixer was absolutely wonderful. I was afraid that the ingriedients would not get mixed well without scraping the bowl sides , not so. It not only mixed everything throughly it did it quickly. This refurbished mixer arrived in excellent condition, one could not tell it is refurbished. I really feel I got an excellent deal, a super mixer at a super price. My husband was really pleased too when I phoned him at work to tell him how much I loved the Kitchen Aid Mixer |
Heavy Duty Mixing

| I recommend this mixer/model/size (for heavy duty home mixing). ... Smaller models have tilt head instead of the crank lift (crank lift is harder to remove the bowl). Larger models (wattage & capacity) have cool colors & brushed metal and even bigger bowls. Very heavy/large/powerful/tall. My one complaint would be the weight and the height (won't fit under my cabinets). Excellent for: whipping eggs & double/triple batches of cookie dough (primary reason I bought this model was for cookies) & heavy stuff like double batches of cream cheese frosting (this was the best surprise with it). This model is suppose to handle a double batch of bread dough (haven't tried it). It has 6 speed settings numbered Stir-2-4-6-8-10 (speed 6 is like the highest speed on my hand mixer - but with heavy gear power). I use stir-2-4, I think 10 is for helicopter rides. Speed/time for most recipes must be reduced for this mixer (if all you mix is boxed cake mixes then you don't need, nor do you even want, this mixer). My co-worker (she loves this same 325-watt model) bought the optional pouring shield for splattering - I bought it for pouring convenience (it's [a] useful piece of plastic - get it). ... But why are they needing to be reconditioned (not as heavy duty as I think or people don't read the instructions about the bread dough)??? |
Wonderful but consider an upgrade.

Bought this mixer a year ago and have only great things to say about it. Only $100 shipped free and was worth double the price. But just upgraded to the Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid RKV25HOXWH Professional 5 Plus 5-Quart Stand Mixer, White. With the recent sale was only a nudge under $125 delivered. How can you beat that? It has metal gears and 125 watts more power. I will keep both to use when entertaining so that two can prepare different things at once. I can not express how happy I am with these mixers or with how amazon has enabled me to put a kitchen together that makes cooking a joy. As a note, if I were forced to choose, I would choose the KitchenAid RKV25HOXWH Professional 5 Plus 5-Quart Stand Mixer over this one. More power and metal gears, only draw back being two less attachments. But with the recent sale it is $40 less than this one and is far more machine.

Is This Thing Reconditioned???

| The box and operators manual says so - BUT - This thing looks and acts as a brand new mixer which sells for three and one half times as much. There is not a scratch, scuff, or blemish on this thing - inside or out. I have always wanted a Kitchenaid stand mixer, and after going through multiple hand mixers, through the years, I couldn't beleive my luck when I discovered this offer. I can't beleive Amazon would offer such a wonderful piece of kitchen machinery for under one hundred dollars, for the five quart, retractable bowl RRK5A - when I saw the price on this unit I couldn't beleive it and ordered one immediately - I now regret not ordering several, as gifts, at this price. If you monitor the reconditioned products on Amazon and see this unit again at this price - ORDER IT IMMEDIATELY - this batch only lasted a couple of hours. GOOD LUCK - KEEP WATCHING |
Great deal for a perfect mixer!

| This machine came in perfect condition and works like a dream. I love how easy it is to clean up afterwards. The wire whip is the hardest part to clean if you do it by hand. I just take the bowl off and fill half way with hot soapy water and put it back on and let the machine clean it. Great purchase at a great price! |
